This is a poem I wrote that is about seeing myself physically as I was going through treatment. This moment described is the one of looking in the mirror, seeing myself bald, going through chemo, feeling exhausted, sad, and scared. I knew I was in that reflection somewhere, yet I couldn’t recognize the person staring back at me at that moment.

Dana Stewart is a 5-year breast cancer survivor, diagnosed at the age of 32. After going through a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction as well as chemotherapy, Dana knew that she wanted to help other young adults going through what she had.
