On April 11th, 2016 I had tarsal tunnel release surgery. My surgeon was also going to remove a lipoma that had been growing on the inside of my foot. He sent it to pathology just to be sure. That Friday I got the call that it was cancer. Epithelioid sarcoma. I had an MRI and a PET scan. Good news and bad news. Good news: The cancer was localized to my right foot. Bad news: surgery to remove the cancer from my foot would render it useless. Amputation seemed to be my only option. So a week after my diagnosis on April 22nd I had my right foot amputated below the knee. I wasn't quite ready to part with my foot so I got it back from pathology, had the bones cleaned and articulated, and now my foot has it's own social media accounts to document it's adventures. @onefootwander on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Day 452 since amputation. Foot has still not grown back. Growing more and more disappointed by the day. (And yes I did look up how many days it's been just so I could post this)
Humor tends to be my main coping mechanism
