Hello There! My name is Sarrah and I have stage t3n1b thyroid cancer.
In July 2013, I had really bad tonsillitis. I went to an ENT to get my tonsils removed, which is when my doctor found the mass on my thyroid. I was officially diagnosed with stage 2 papillary thyroid cancer on July 23rd, 2013. I had my first surgery to remove my whole thyroid, as well as a mass that was about 4 cm x 4.5 cm and some cancerous nodes, on august 22nd. In November of 2013, I began my first season as a high school basketball coach and was more than blessed to receive what was like a support group of sisters. Without those girls, I would have been so discouraged and depressed. But they kept me fighting off the court, while I kept them fighting on the court! On October 29th, I had a second surgery to remove some more cancerous nodes that had showed up. I had my first dose of RAI (165Mi) on Nov. 19, 2013.
Today, I am living with my cancer. I was restated in December 2015 to t3n1b. have a new growth that has surfaced, as well as some hot spots. But, since I've now had multiple surgeries and treatment, we are waiting to do anything else until absolutely necessary.
My blood levels are constantly changing, and my body us going through strange changes. My hair is falling out, my skin is peeling, and breaking out, all while taking T3 & T4 hormones.
