Has anyone had surgery to remove part of their stomach? How long does it take to gain weight again? My father is in his 4th year of recovery from the surgery, and still has trouble putting on weight.

Would you like to contact me? I have gotten notification that a couple people have tried to get in touch through this site, but I have been unable to retreive their messages here. Anyway, my email is jhillard@msu.edu. I am sure that will work. Something else to consider is joint the Facebook group called "Stomach Cancer Warrior and Care Giver Family." I did not come up with the name, but I have come to kind of like it. Just request to join, and I will welcome you. We have 200 members currently. Other Facebook groups to consider are "Can't Stomach Cancer" and "No Stomach for Cancer." I am very happy that all of us are alive!
Hi all , ive just joined, ive recently had my 3rd ct scan for stomach cancer, (stage 3)after 3 rounds of chemo,i went to see my consultant to find out if the tumour had shrunk enough for a total gastrectomy, to be told that yes the tumour has shrunk considerably, but we cant do the operation as you now have enlarged lymph nodes near the large intestines , so there putting me on another 3 rounds of chemo ie one day on drip then 21 days of tablets x3 times im totally lost as to what to expect now, i had no real side effects from past chemo exept tingly finger tips, but cant seem to find out what all of the above means or what the connections are.any one had anything similar please

Need help with getting enough fats, carb, protein and calories after I had my entire stomach removed due to cancer. I currently have a PEG tube and am taking liquid formula but this is not giving me enough to keep me going. I have a difficult time trying to eat--keep getting nausea. Any suggestions?
My friend and work colleague has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer and the convenentional medical treatments (chemo and radiation). The doctor view is these treatments will not effective at this stage and will, therefore, not be administered. Does anyone know of any other treatment (preferably natural)that could be would be effective or could be tried?
