How to register, creating a profile and logging in?

Step 1: Starting at the homepage, navigate the cursor to the top right of the page to where it says, ‘Login/Register’. Click ‘Register’.
Step 2: You will now be in a section titled, “Join the Community”. Fill in the blank fields with your basic information (name, email, location etc.) The fields with a red asterisk are required for registration while the other fields are not so omit them if you choose to.
Step 3: Although it is optional, if you want to add a picture of yourself to your profile you can do so by navigating to the column on the left and clicking ‘Browse’. From here you can select any picture file from your computer (2 megabyte maximum).
Step 4: Now that you have entered all of your information and selected a picture it is time to hit the ‘Sign up’ button at the bottom. Upon submitting, you will be directed to a page explaining that an email has been sent to the address you provided.
Step 5: Follow the steps provided in the email. The email will contain your user name (your email address) as well as a temporary password. Click the link to access the login page and enter this information. Upon login, you should change your password via the ‘Settings’ link located in the top right corner of every page.
Step 6: You’re all set. Go to your profile page to enter your story along with any treatment information you wish to share.

How to edit your profile?

To edit your profile, first sign in then click the ‘My Profile’ link at the top right of the page. From there, you can edit your information by clicking any of the edit of these symbols. The one next to your name allows you to edit your description. The second one next to your picture allows you to change your profile picture. The third one, located next to your age/sex/location can be clicked to edit that information.

- How to Create/Edit a journal entry?

First, head to your profile page. Then, click on the ‘Story/Journal’ tab located above your profile picture. Click ‘Post New Entry’. The first text field will be the title of your journal entry and the second will be the body. If you notice a mistake after you post your journal entry don’t fret. You can always navigate back to the 'Story/Journal' tab and click the ‘Edit’ link located next to each of your journal entries. This will allow you to change the original text you entered. Now you’re all set to share.

- How to recover a lost or forgotten password?

Oh no! You've forgotten or lost your password? Don’t worry you can fix that by requesting your password. All you have to do now is enter the email address you registered your account with and your password will be emailed to you shortly.

- How to find people/stories in the community?
-
It's time to see who’s in the I Had Cancer community. From the homepage, click the ‘Community’ link. This will bring you to the "Browse Community" page. From here you can do a multitude of things. You can browse photos or if you're searching for someone specific you can enter their name in the search field and hit ‘Search’. You can also narrow your search by clicking the ‘Advanced Search’ icon. A menu will appear below and you can narrow your search by entering age, gender, year diagnosed or type of cancer. Once you have made your selections you can click 'Search' to return your results. You can also narrow down the showcase of member photos by selecting or deselecting the check boxes dubbed, 'Survivors', 'Fighters' and 'Supporters'. Clicking on a profile from the community showcase will give you a brief description of the member but you can click the ‘Read My Story’ link to go to their profile and find out more.

Stand up and tell the world about the I Had Cancer site! Or just sit down and do it from your computer ;) You can share I Had Cancer with the world by letting your friends know on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tumblr, StumbleUpon etc. Anyway you share things digitally will work just fine.
